Stunning jewelry and accessories paired with a unique and charming atmosphere make Swank & Mercier, a boutique located in the Wagner House in downtown Freeport, the go-to for a fun shopping experience. Whether looking for that special something to complete an outfit, a gift for a friend, or simply to treat yourself, Swank & Mercier has you covered.

The vintage, boho-chic décor pairs pleasantly with the historic and vintage atmosphere of the Wagner House, while also inviting shoppers inside the cozy boutique to gaze at the treasures that await them inside. Swank & Mercier offers a wide selection of women’s accessories and fashion items including earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, scarves, wallets, luggage tags, hats, sweaters, and more. They even offer men’s cuff links.

Freeport natives Angie Swank Spachman and Ginger Kerns Mercier own and operate the boutique. Mercier says that the idea for the boutique stemmed from their unique concept to have a boutique with limited hours and merchandise so that Freeport and area residents would get exclusive items that are one-of-a-kind.

“We were having exclusive shows and pop-up sales. We would set up for a night, sometimes upstairs [in the Wagner House],” Spachman says.

In addition to the boutique, Swank & Mercier also offers event staging, styling for bridal parties, dances, and other events, and will even help style customers who walk in and need accessories for a specific outfit.

“We can put something together for anyone’s taste,” says Mercier. “Even if we don’t necessarily personally like that style, they [the customers] love it!”

Swank & Mercier is known for its unique products and style, but the prices of their items steal the show. The reasonably priced items attract customers for more than just the cost; the items are also extremely good quality.

Spachman and Mercier also prioritize giving back to their community. They host many fundraisers and have partnered with other businesses to raise money for charities or causes. Most recently they hosted events for breast cancer awareness event in October, the Freeport Poms Squad, and Freeport Voices, among many others.

They have many upcoming events including:

November 19th: Mistletoe Walk

November 25th: Shop Small Saturday

November 30th: Come Naked for Charity (in collaboration with Vogue)

December 1st: 5-8 PM Holiday Shopping Event

December 7th: 12-2 PM Holiday Tea (in cooperation with the Wagner House)

December 8th: 5-8 PM Bourbon & Bling for ladies (and guys) to shop for gifts

Spachman & Mercier both say, “If you haven’t been to visit us, feel free! Contact us if you have an event, gifts, or fundraisers that you need help with. We also offer gift certificates for any amount.”
